Custom Homes, Delivered as Building Kits

Ecolog Log Homes are custom homes, designed individually for each customer. To simplify pricing and delivery of our homes, we have created a standard "building kit", which describes what we deliver to our customers.

Our log home kits contain all material for the shell of your cottage, cabin or residential home.

The most affordable wood species option we offer is Hemlock, which is often overlooked and underutilized by builders, although it has a century old tradition in timberframe and log construction. Hemlock is inexpensive, durable and insect resistant.

Douglas Fir if famous for its strength, stiffness and durability. Its color ranges from light yellow to reddish brown, often forming interesting looking color bands. Douglas Fir dries evenly, remains straight and checks little while drying.

Red Cedar is one of the lightest softwoods, and its low density results in higher insulation values then other softwoods. It shrinks very little and is superior to all other softwood in its resistance to warping, twisting and checking. Red Cedar is well known for its durability and its natural decay resistance.

You can find the cost of Ecolog kits for the different wood species on our pricing page.
